Eng. Ivan Lichev
Eng. Ivan Lichev is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Holding BDZ" EAD since September 2026.
He was appointed under a management contract for “BDZ Holding” EAD, pursuant to Article 52, paragraph 1 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Public Enterprises Act, for a term lasting until a competitive selection process is held to choose members of the Board of Directors of “BDZ Holding” EAD.
He holds a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Electronics and Automation and a postgraduate qualification in International Economic Relations from the Technical University of Sofia.
Engineer Ivan Lichev is a financial and operations manager with over 30 years of professional experience in the engineering, finance, energy, and transportation sectors.
From November 2019 to December 2021, he served as managing director of “BDZ – Freight Transport” EOOD, where he successfully implemented a large-scale restructuring of the company and optimized its structure, restoring its market share to over 50% in Bulgaria’s rail freight transport within two years.
He has also held a number of other senior positions, including Chief Financial Officer of “Bulgarian Posts” EAD, Chief Financial Officer of “Bulgarian Energy” AD, Chief Operating Officer of “Dietsmann Energoremont Holding” AD, and Chairman of the Management Board of “Energoremont Holding” AD.
