Kristian Vaklinov
Kristian Vaklinov is a member of the Board of Directors of "Holding BDZ" EAD since September 2026.
He was appointed under a management contract for “BDZ Holding” EAD, pursuant to Article 52, paragraph 1 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Public Enterprises Act.
He holds a master’s degree in “Transport Economics” and a bachelor’s degree in “Accounting” from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).
Kristian Vaklinov is a railroad expert with over 9 years of professional experience in the commercial department of “BDZ – Passenger Transport” EOOD, where he serves as chief expert on service quality research and analysis. He is well-known in the public sphere for his active civic engagement in support of rail transport in Bulgaria.
In 2013, he launched a campaign to preserve trains on the Septemvri–Dobrinishte narrow-gauge railway in the Rhodopes and worked to restore the Dobrinishte–Yakoruda evening train. For his contributions, he was honored as “Person of the Year” in Pazardzhik in 2014; he was an official guest at the Presidency as a modern enlightener in 2018; and in 2021, he was among the 10 names selected for the BNR “Enlightener of the Year” ranking.
In 2025, he published an encyclopedic book dedicated to the history of the narrow-gauge railway.
